The FTIC application is available from November to May 1st annually for summer/fall applicants. Applications may be accepted for spring admission IF space allows.  New transfer students can apply for the term they plan to attend UCF with deadlines of May 1st (summer), August 1st (fall), and December 1st (spring). Prospective students to UCF, who plan on pursuing a STEM degree, can apply to the EXCEL program by logging on to the application using their NID and NID password.

The application is 3 steps:

  1. Contact Information
  2. Academic History
  3. Questionnaire & Submission

* Note: if you go back within the application (i.e. step 3 to 2) information will be deleted and you will have to start over.  Students can email excel@ucf.edu if they need their application reopened.

After submission of the application, decisions may take up to 4-6 weeks. Our selection committee looks for basic admissions criteria and admission will depend upon the assessment of a college level math placement. If a student has no prior dual enrollment or 11th grade AP credit that allows them a college level math placement, then the student must complete the University required Math Placement Test (MPT) to determine EXCEL math eligibility. To be eligible for the EXCEL program students must be at least College Algebra ready.

Students are encouraged to log on to the EXCEL application and check their status frequently as we do not send out updated status emails.
