The EXCEL Transfer program is the latest addition to the EXCEL portfolio. Students transferring from the state college or university systems with an AA degree and seeking to pursue a STEM degree at UCF, are eligible to be a member of EXCEL Transfer (EXCEL-T). Students participating in EXCEL-T have all of the same requirements and benefits as the EXCEL first-time-in-college (FTIC) students which includes participating in the same math courses and STEM Seminar: Immersive Transfer Experience.
EXCEL-T students start in STEM Seminar: Immersive Transfer Experience, which is designed to meet the needs of students entering UCF with some prior college experience. Expanding on the curriculum found in STEM Seminar I and II, the course includes assistance in transitioning to UCF, expedited exposure to resources that better prepare students for a career in STEM, and engagement with discipline specific faculty and industry professionals. In addition to all of the resources and benefits that the EXCEL participants receive, EXCEL-T participants receive support from a peer coach, an upper division STEM student, and access to key entry level courses needed for progression in their major.
