Meet KnightHacks winner, Cristobal Sepulveda! Cris is currently in his third year with the EXCEL/COMPASS program, majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Statistics. Cris served as an EXCEL/COMPASS Living Learning Community mentor developing strong and beneficial connections with other studnets, while overall creating a friendly, constructive, and engaging community within the LLC.

In addition to his involvement with EXCEL, Cris is part of the tech committee for UCF’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). In this role he has helped develop/publish the SHPEUCF app to streamline operations within the organization. Cris has used this experience to gain knowledge on several coding languages, and was named “UI Director” after making in-depth prototypes and wireframes of the app during development. In his first year at UCF, Cris also participated in the Texas Instruments Hardware Challenge at KnightHacks (UCF’s hackathon), winning with his Bluetooth-enabled “smart pet feeder”, made using MSP430 microcontrollers and the MIT App Inventor. He is currently in the process of interviewing for internships with companies such as Google, Twitter, and Boeing – just to name a few. We wish him the best of luck with this and cannot wait to see what else he shares with the EXCEL community!
