My name is Tiffany Miller and I am currently a sophomore majoring in Environmental Engineering. I went to Durant High School in Plant City, Florida. So far my experience as a UCF Knight has been great. My favorite class I have taken was Biology and the Environment. Dr. Weishampel made all the lectures fun and incorporated videos, comics, and parodies of the material into his lectures. I always looked forward to this class. Although it was my favorite class, he was not my favorite professor. My favorite professor is Dr. Swanson. I had him for Calc 1 and Calc 2, and I wish I could take him for Calc 3. He explained everything so well, and there was never a moment that I felt lost. He also stopped mid‐lecture to tell funny stories and the whole class laughed and joked together. He was a great professor and earned respect from all the students. Being considered as a “”minority”” in the Engineering field is what really made me want to be apart of the GEMS program. It's a great way to connect with other girls and serves as a support system to turn to. I hope to give freshman girls a sense of belonging in this field and help them along the way. I want you to be active in this program too, because it is a great way to make friends and meet faculty. Aside from school, I like to do Colorguard. I am an official Starlight Knight on the UCF Colorguard and I will get to perform at all the football games! I like to do simple things, such as shop or go to the movies, but I'm always up for a new adventure!
