Profile

Dr. Qipeng Phil Zheng is an Associate Professor and the graduate coordinator in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management Systems, and the director or Applied Operations Research Lab at University of Central Florida. He is also the Editor-In-Chief of Energy Systems, a Spring Nature journal. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering at University of Florida.

He has worked in the fields of stochastic programming, network optimization, integer programming, applied game theory, and applications in a variety of areas, such as energy systems, transportation planning, production planning, sustainability, supply chain management, water-food-energy nexus, Artificial Intelligence and applications (e.g., social media, predictive maintenance), among many others. He has published more than 40 articles in various high-quality journals, including flagship journals in Industrial & Systems Engineering (IISE Transactions), Power Systems (IEEE Trans on Power Systems), European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Optimization Theory and Applications, etc.

His research has been supported by various federal funding agencies, such as National Science Foundation, Air Force Research Labs, Department of Energy, NASA, NAWCAD, etc.
