Profile

My name is Nidhi Patel and I am Biomedical Sciences major and a Health Sciences minor. This will be my third year at UCF. In 2020, I graduated from West Port High School in Ocala, Florida. One of my favorite classes at UCF was Physiology, it was interesting to learn about the interconnected processes within the human body. My favorite professor at UCF is Professor Muollo from Calculus II. For as difficult as the course was for me, material was explained very well, and office hours were very flexible to be accommodative for students. I decided to get involved with the GEMS program because I was once a mentee and my mentor really helped navigate me through my first year at UCF. This program is built to help students explore opportunities and progress towards goals. My advice to incoming freshmen is to make connections and make time for yourself. The people you get to know will be the ones to help you through college. Also, even though academics are important, make sure you don’t put yourself under too much stress. Personally, I usually watch movies and try out new places to eat around Orlando with my friends in my free time. When on campus, we also workout at the RWC and get work done either in the library or Student Union.
