Hey! My name is Nickolas Corredor I’m an industrial engineering major going into my third year of college. I graduated from Western Highschool, which is in Davie, Florida. One of my favorite classes was introduction to engineering because of the projects we got to do which allowed me to work on an engineering project with teammates. Another one of my favorite classes was calculus 2, Professor Pyles is one of the best teachers you can ever have, and she managed to make such a hard class enjoyable. I decided to get involved with the GEMS program because I know what it’s like to be new to college. I know how frightening it is to take such a big step forward and I only hope that the new mentees will know that they have at least one friend who will try to make the transition to
college a lot easier and less scary. I also hope that through this program the mentees and mentors can meet new friends to rely on and take the college experience to another level. Whenever you feel alone and nervous remember that the GEMS program will always be there for you. In my free time I love to listen to music, watch tv, and have fun with my friends.
