Profile

My major is Biomedical Sciences and I have just started my sophomore year. I graduated from Apopka High School in 2011. My favorite class at UCF so far has probably been Biology because I love science. My favorite professor was Professor Bass because he was a very funny, down‐to‐Earth guy. He didn't have office hours in an office, but instead he would meet us at Panera Bread or by the fountain which was pretty cool. I decided to get involved with the GEMS program because I want to be able to help incoming freshmen girls and because I know that coming to college can be a challenging transition. I expect to build a relationship with my mentees that allows them to feel like they can come to me at any time for any reason at all, almost like a big sister. Some words of wisdom I would give for incoming EXCEL freshmen are to not be afraid to grab opportunities when you get them. Being in college and in the EXCEL Program is going to open many doors for you, so take advantage of that. Aside from school, my favorite thing to do is run. It's what I spend most of my mornings doing. I recently completed my first marathon this year, and am now training for my first ultra‐marathon. I also love to be with friends and family, cook, and read. To make a little extra money, I work at Barnes & Noble.
