My name is Marisa Webber and I am a fourth year Industrial Engineering major. I graduated from Bloomingdale Senior High School, which is near Tampa, Florida, in 2015. My favorite class at UCF would have to be Engineering Economic Analysis. This course is for Industrial, Civil, and Environmental engineers. It was a very interesting class that discussed the economic and business side of engineering. I was very lucky to be a part of the EXCEL program because through it I had a great math professor. For college algebra and pre‐calc I had Professor Gaudiello. She was the most helpful, patient, and easy to understand professor I've ever had, and would take a course with her again if I was given the opportunity. I was really excited to get involved in GEMS because it provides so many great resources and opportunities for women that some of us would not have received otherwise. It was great knowing that if I ever had questions or concerns my freshman year I had someone there to help me. I'm so excited to be able to provide the same support and guidance to my mentees as they go through their first year of college! Although school is my top priority, I like to make time for other activities to keep me balanced. I love playing soccer or just hanging out with my friends.
