Hey! My name is Kristianna Nicolai and I am a Mechanical Engineering major. This will be my second year at UCF and so far I'm loving it! I graduated from Winter Haven High School which is located in Winter Haven, Florida, about 2 miles from Legoland. So far my favorite class here at UCF has been Intro to engineering only because we got to do a design project at the end of each semester. Other than that, I really enjoyed Intro to C programming because it exposed me to a new skill that is not necessarily needed for my major, but is a good thing to know anyhow. My favorite professors so far have been Mrs. Angel, who taught Intro to C Programming, because she is good at explaining concepts and a very kind and fun individual. My other favorite professor is Mrs. Pyle, who taught my Pre‐Calc and Calc 1 class, because she is also good at explaining concepts and is also a very fair teacher. I have loved being involved in this program because it gives students an opportunity to have someone there to help them in their transition to college life. My mentor was very helpful to me when I had a bunch of questions and was trying to figure out what all I needed to do! Other than school I like to be involved in extracurricular activities and projects. I am currently the secretary for ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and was also on their robotics team my freshman year. Other than robotics, I also enjoy sports, arts, music, board games, cooking/baking, and hanging out with friends! Some words of advice: get the Tapingo app and use it even if you do not have a meal plan. Most places allow you to use the app there and you can avoid the long lines (Chick‐fil‐A always has a long line!)
