Profile

My name is Keziah Olajide, and I am a Molecular and Cellular Biology on the premed track. This will be my second year at UCF. Originally from England, I moved to the US in my junior year of high school and graduated from Wiregrass Ranch High School in Wesley Chapel. One of my favorite classes at UCF was chemistry fundamentals 2 lab with Professor Randles-it was intriguing as I was able to expand on my lab techniques and comprehend the processes of experimental chemistry. One of my favorite professors at UCF is Professor Baker-I have been able to submit my English composition work to the UCF stylus under her encouragement. She is so passionate about what she teaches and helps students to uncover new perspectives towards writing (something I dreaded before taking her class). I joined GEMS because I loved the program’s objectives, helping students transition from high school to college, and provide an easier way to make friends in STEM majors. I wanted to assist others and listen to their concerns just like my mentor did. My advice for incoming freshman is to go to office hours or utilize the free resources that the excel center provides. This allows you to develop a connection with your professors and other members of staff, which is beneficial in the long run. In my free time, I like to draw, paint, and listen to my favorite band, Coldplay
