Profile
My name is Isabelle Geiger and I am a third-year civil engineering student at UCF. I graduated in 2020 from Wiregrass Ranch High School, which is near Tampa. Some of my favorite classes that I’ve taken include statics and geology, these classes really made me realize what my interests were in civil engineering, leading me to land on the geotechnical and structural tracks. My favorite professor so far has been Dr. Yu, who has been my Intro to Environmental Engineering professor and who I do undergraduate research for on air quality monitoring systems. I decided to join GEMS because I wanted to make friends with girls that I had common interests with and because I was seeking mentorship from someone who had already taken the classes that I was taking and would understand the struggles I was going through as a young woman in STEM. In my free time I like to go to the gym, go running, rock climb, watch movies, and cooking or baking.
