Profile
My name is Enid Jimenez and I am a Biomedical Sciences major. I am a junior this year. I graduated from the International Baccalaureate Program at Palm Harbor University High School. My favorite subject in school has always been science, and so far my favorite class at UCF has been Microbiology because the lab for it is a lot of fun! It is so interesting looking at all the bacteria under a microscope and staining them. My favorite professor so far has been my biology professor Pamela Thomas. She is very sweet and gives a lot of extra credit and she is always willing to answer questions. I decided to get involved with the GEMS program because I really appreciated the help I got from it last year when I was a freshman. I would have been very lost if it weren't for my mentor, and I hope that I can do the same by helping guide you ladies during your first year at UCF in order to make the transition easier into college life. My expectations for the GEMS program are to gain research experience and networking. My expectations with my mentees are to become friends and to be able to have a positive impact in their college experience. When I am not studying for exams or in class, I like to go out to dance salsa. I am part of a club on campus called Latin Rhythm and they have salsa classes every week. I also like to go to the gym or to go play beach volleyball by the Rec and Wellness Center.
