Profile

Hello, my name is Carolina Esquivel and I am a third year Biomedical Sciences major and a Psychology minor as well! I am from Miami where I graduated from a dual enrollment program called School for Advanced Studies-Kendall Campus in 2017. One of my favorite classes to date has been Chemistry II with Dr. Hampton. Despite it being quite difficult, I really enjoyed the material of the course as well as the professor (which I guess is why I am now conducting research with him)! In the future, I hope to pursue a career in medicine-specifically osteopathic medicine while also earning my masters along the way! The reason I decided to become a GEMS mentor is to help people like you. Coming in my first year, I was quite overwhelmed but my mentor was super helpful and kind which is what encouraged me to follow in her footsteps. I hope to be the best mentor for you and I hope you find me to be everything you expected in a mentor and more. When I’m not studying for classes, you can find me on my bike, watching Netflix or eating some good Cuban food ??
