My name is Amy Lai and I am currently a sophomore at UCF. I was originally from California but moved to Florida when I was very little. I attended Pinellas Park High School where I was Editor n Chief of the yearbook committee, Senior class President, and joined Mu Alpha Theta, Rho Kappa, Science Honor Society, National Honor Society, and the Art Honor Society. While at UCF, thanks the the gym, I have gained an interest in Rock Climbing and find that its a fun way to stay in shape. One of my favorite classes here at UCF is Calculus I with John Hausermann. The class was very small and I felt like I really got to know my classmates and my Graduate Assistant. Although the class was a little difficult it was still fun and a good class to start college with. But my favorite professor would be Professor David Head who teaches American History, he is very understanding and is always in a good mood. I decided to join the Gems program in hopes to help create a support system for the incoming class of freshmen. My expectation from my mentees are that they become engaged in the program and utilize the resources that the program offers.
