Profile

My name is Acadia LeBouef, and I am a Biomedical Sciences major on a Pre-Medical track with a Chemistry minor. This will be my third year at UCF. I grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from Waupaca High School in 2023. My favorite class at UCF has been Organic Chemistry I with Dr. Lawrence since it was incredibly rewarding for how difficult it was. I have always loved solving puzzles and Organic Chemistry feels just like that. Dr. Lawrence has been such a great professor with this course as his approach to teaching is very supportive. He understands the difficulty of this class and tries to make it manageable.

I joined GEMS because I was an out-of-state student who didn’t know anyone when entering UCF. GEMS and EXCEL gave me an almost instant friend group that I could get to know. My goal for my mentees is that they will find their place at UCF and in their major. I wish to provide a supportive and motivating environment that allows my mentees to grow. Some advice I have for incoming students is to find what makes you motivated. When things get difficult, I find it best to think about why I wanted to do this in the first place. In my free time I enjoy watching movies, cooking, spending time with my pet lizard, and going to art museums.
