Academic advising is a critical part of a college student’s experience. Our Academic Success Coaches encourage students to make effective independent decisions about their academic journey, while helping them stay on track for graduation and fostering academic success.

Students are encouraged to meet with their Academic Success Coach multiple times each semester. As members of EXCEL, our students have access to multiple Academic Success Coaches to assist them during their time at UCF:

1. EXCEL Academic Success Coach

The EXCEL Academic Success Coach works with students primarily during the first year, while they are in their EXCEL math and STEM Seminar courses. The first year of college is a transitional time, as students learn more about themselves and their academic interests. Your EXCEL Academic Success Coach will assist you in transitioning to college life and navigating UCF’s academic curriculum. While the first year is filled with exciting new experiences, students may face challenges as well. The EXCEL Academic Success Coach fosters students’ academic success by checking in with them periodically throughout the semester.

2. College Academic Success Coaches

Each student at UCF is paired with an Academic Success Coach in their college.  Your Academic Success coach will support you as they navigate new college opportunities and challenges. Academic Success Coaches can help you explore all options and personalize the academic experience by getting to know your interests and academic goals. These individuals are specialized advisors in your field of study that will guide you on the path of graduation.
