UF SHPEP is a six-week academic enrichment program during the summer, for freshman and sophomore students from across the country who have an interest in pursuing a career in the health professions. In addition to academic enrichment in science and quantitative subjects, students will also gain clinical exposure, development of learning and study skills, and knowledge and insight into the health-related professional school admissions process.
UF SHPEP 2022 will take place from May 9th – June 17th, 2022. Currently, we anticipate hosting UF SHPEP 2022 in-person on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville, FL. However, this is subject to change depending on the status of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The application for the 2022 cohort will open on November 1st, 2021 and close on February 5th, 2022 at 11:59pm (EST). Applications are available at the national Summer Health Professions Education Program website. Admissions decisions will be released on March 15th, 2022.
UF SHPEP is free for students accepted to the program and are provided with housing, a meal plan, and a $600 stipend. SHPEP is a national program funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
