Do you want to research various diseases like Alzheimers, Parkinsons, diabetes, different types of cancer, cardiovascular disorders, or obesity? Then the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is for you! Dr. Jaron Lockett (, Intramural Scienetific Recruiter from the National Institute of Aging, will be on campus to discuss research training opportunities that are available to UCF students.

apply for grants up to $500 to support their research project. Group

2009 EXCEL Students Persistence Challenge

A+A=$  Its simple math......   As are worth more both to your GPA and now to your wallet.  The EXCEL program, with the assistance of WORKFORCE CENTRAL FLORIDA, 9 EXCEL students have the opportunity to earn Barnes and Noble Gift Cards for improving their math test grades.  All students are encouraged to take advantage of the tutoring opportunities available at the EXCEL Center and the Nike Annex.  Students should see their graduate mentor for additional information on the Persistence Challenge Program.  Good Luck!!

An international research and engineering company that provides cutting-edge engineering and software solutions to complex and challenging problems both in the physical sciences and critical defense areas wants a junior or senior majoring in computer science, electrical or computer engineering, mathematics or physics, or modeling and simulation for a part-time Co-op position. 
They seek a motivated student that has a passion for software development, physics, and math.  Candidates also need a working knowledge of software development processes and concepts.  The company builds military simulations that model physical effects using state-of-the-art gaming technologies. This position will give the successful candidate the opportunity to have a long lasting impact on the training experience for American soldiers.
Desired Qualifications: 
familiarity with C++. 00 design, UML, and XML
Both excellent oral and written communication and demonstrated creative problem-solving skills needed. 
Minimum GPA:  3.3/4.0. 
Salary:  $14-$16/hr., 15-30 hrs/wk.
